I am so excited about the upcoming Metallica Death Magnetic tour hitting Ft. Lauderdale on 10.01.09. I just got tickets and I know this will be a concert experience of a lifetime!

My best concert experience was with a band called Local H. They did a show in Cleveland and at one point, I got the chance to request my favorite song of theirs and then joined the band on stage to sing and rock out!!! What is going to top that will be AMAZING!

So... I am curious about your experiences... what was your best concert/ live music experience?

I just went to see Dave Matthews Band... and it completely blew my mind.
I also saw Fiona Apple live and while it wasn't as dynamic a show as Dave Matthews, she is incredibly talented and it was awesome because not only is she my favorite singer, I also had front row seats.

I have a tie.
1) Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. L.A.. Late 1980s. He gave Clarence a washing machine that night. :) They were on their last tour.
2) Stevie Ray Vaughn, San Diego, 1990. Right before the crash. I was big pregnant, we went backstage, and he signed my shirt "To the baby." Wow.

Now, I've not been too many concerts in my life (I'm only 12 yrs. old here, though...) But the most exciting concert I've been to, would have to be the Trans Siberian Orchestra's Christmas music stuff 'n' things... They have lots of sweet guitars... drum solos... keyboards... I have to say, they really know how to being rock and Christmas together!

I would have to say either The Grateful Dead at the Chicago Theatre or Joni Mitchell at Alpine Valley... Would love to have seen Stevie Ray Vaugh before he went away!

It's a toss up between seeing the Mahavishnu Orchestra on their first tour. Especially, since it was advertised as an acoustic John McLaughlin show.

Or...

equally memorable was the first time I saw Miles Davis, live. At Paul's Mall in Kenmore Square, Boston. Our table was right up front, and he was nearly emptying his spit-valve on my shoes. The band included Al Foster, Michael Henderson, Reggie Lucas, Benny Maupin, Badal Roy, and a few others. This was around the time On the Corner was released.

My favorite concert was live and it was a whole life time ago. I was another person in 1973, I live in MN went to see Alice Cooper and his snake. Kinda scarey, after church this past Sunday I started the song "schools out for the summer" with two kids from our youth group. Sorry, don't remember the correct title. It was just sort of a hoot, me being a granny and all. Part of my testimonie if being freed from drug and alcohol abuse, not that any of that happen there at the concert. eh hem. God did protect me from an lsd overdose at the Led Z concert. Wow, the guardian angels were on double time back then. Forever forgiven is so cool.

Slightly Stoopid, Tailgate Tour 2008, the large Amphitheatre, in Florida. We were in the pit, the very front, the entire time. We danced, we screamed. It was super fun! Also, we tailgated before that (since it was the tailgate tour). I love Slightly Stoopid, I wish they'd come make me feel better because I'm going to miss their concern this year. OH sadness.
