Are jean shorts out of style?

Today my brother told me that jean shorts have been out of style for years. Is this true?? I don't mean the cut-off ends ones, I'm asking about the ones that are like knee length and have a hemmed bottom.

I knew they were less popular, but I never considered them to have become a fashion mistake...

im a so cal girl and denim will always be in style here. we live in jeans the only thing that changes is light vs dark. high rise vs low rise. just choose the style wisely. boys to the knee and baggy. girls right now short shorts and snug to the knee everywhere in CA.

still in style, but have adapted to the fashion styles... perhaps he's more of a plaid guy than you are....
my personal opinion is the basketball shorts worn low enough for the world to see a guy's boxers is what is a fashion mistake and makes someone look like a loser who doesn't know their pants are falling down

Jean shorts that go to the knee are okay for men. Loose but not too baggy.
Clean, dark shorts. That'll be alright.
NOT short jean shorts, on men anyway. :( Yucky.
Don't worry about it. You're brother has just been aware that where once upon a time, everyone wore jean shorts, now they are less common because there are SO many different kinds of pants made today. Khakis, cords, even white jeans! Wear what you want. Screw conformity. :) Embrace the pants diversity of life!

unless they are the jean shorts that are like.....what are those....are those short pants, or are the shorts disproportionate? but they are otherwise ok.

I must say, I attended the Stagecoach music festival in CA. last month and, OMG the jean shorts were looking mighty fine!!!

First thing's first: I've never cared too much about fashion and as long as it doesn't look atrocious I'll wear it. I still don't think that Jean shorts are out of fashion. I use them all the time, and I know many other people that still use them. I am referring to the knee length shorts, not the short shorts that women sometimes wear. Those are definitely off limits for guys.
